Registration Information

How to register for the Institute:

All students, including students at George Mason University, must register for the Institute through the Center for Health Policy Research and Ethics (CHPRE) website.

On the registration page, students may select one of the following:

OPTION 1: Registering for Continuing Education Units (CEUs)

  • (Requires attendance only at the Institute)
The Continuing Education Unit (CEU) is a nationally recognized unit of measurement for participation in non-credit continuing education programs.  As a CEU student, an individual is not required to attend class from 7:30 am to 9am.  The day will begin for CEU students at 9:00 am.

OR

  • OPTION 2: Registering for graduate credit
(Requires attendance at BOTH the class and the Institute)
When a student registers for a class — either the Health Policy course (HAP 605) OR the Health Policy Leadership course (HAP 746) -  he/she also registers for the Institute.  Students enrolling for graduate credit must attend class from 7:30 am to 9am and the Washington Health Policy Institute, which begins at 9:00 am.

Upon registration, registrants will receive a confirmation email.

Registering for the Health Policy Leadership course (HAP 746)
Interested students with questions on which course to register for should contact the course instructor, Dr. PJ Maddox (pmaddox@gmu.edu).

Institute Agenda and Course Syllabi

The Institute agenda and course syllabi will be available several weeks before the Institute on the Washington Health Policy Institute website and are password-protected.  A user name and password will be included in the registration confirmation email sent to each student.

Transferring Credit for non-GMU students

First, each student registering for graduate credit will need to check with his or her university and make sure that the university will accept the class for credit.  Second, the student then needs to contact the George Mason University Office of the Registrar (registrar@gmu.edu or 703.993.2441) for details on how to transfer credit.  More details are available on the website for the Office of the Registrar.

Obtaining Academic Transcripts

Contact the George Mason University Office of the Registrar (registrar@gmu.edu or 703.993.2441) for instructions on how to obtain official academic transcripts. More information is available on the website for the Office of the Registrar.
